2026.10From Packaging to Keepsake: The Emotional Design of Red Dot Best of the Best Moment Jeju
Moment Jeju turns a souvenir package into a continuation of place and memory through landscape illustration, tactile materials and a structure that can become a frame or postcard.

Moment Jeju is more than a container for a souvenir. It carries the landscape and feeling of Jeju Island through illustrations of volcanic scenery, coastlines, tea gardens and other local references.
The combination of matte pulp paper and small areas of foil or UV finishing balances an environmentally considerate material with a sense of quality. The visual language stays restrained, allowing texture and detail to do the work.
The strongest innovation is structural. After the food is used, the box can be folded into a decorative picture frame, while smaller packages can be kept as postcards. The packaging continues to exist after its first function is complete.
This changes the souvenir from a functional container into an emotional carrier. A destination is remembered through what the package looks like, how it feels and what it allows the recipient to do next.
For packaging teams, the question is not only how to improve the unboxing moment. It is also what the package can become afterwards, and how place, culture and brand story can be expressed through structure and material rather than surface decoration alone.
